Maa Chintpurni Devi Temple is found in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh and is one of the most important places for pilgrims in the state, known as the ‘Devi Bhumi’ or land of goddesses. This temple is highly respected and is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, believed to be where parts of Goddess Sati’s body fell. Legend says that when Lord Shiva carried Sati’s body, Lord Vishnu cut it into pieces to help Shiva move on. It is thought that Sati’s feet landed where the Mata Chintpurni Temple in Una stands today. Also called Chinnamastika Dham, ‘Chintpurni’ means the Goddess who eases worries. Mata Chintpurni Devi, seen as a form of the Supreme Goddess Durga, fulfills the wishes of her followers, bringing them peace and happiness. Like a caring mother, she is believed to bless everyone who visits with sincere hopes, ensuring that no one leaves without her grace.
